Targeted Handheld Scanning

Targeted handheld scanning allows the operator to point the scanner

instead of lifting heavy or bulky items that are in the customer's

hands or shopping cart. A specially designed Pointer Line helps the

operator visually aim at the desired bar code.

The scanner's shape cradles comfortably in the operator's hand. Its

weight is distributed evenly to maximize balance and minimize

fatigue.

To use the Duet scanner as a targeted handheld scanner:

1. Grasp the scanner in the palm of the hand with the

thumb positioned on or near the trigger switch.

2. Lift the scanner from the stand and position the

scanner over the product to be scanned. (See Figure

17).
